Old friends in new places

It’s technically day 5 of the journey, but I hope to go back to sleep, so we’ll still call it day 4. (I think; days get hazy on the road when you’re sleep deprived.)

We had a shorter day of driving and it was great. We made it to Denver mid-afternoon and stopped at my friend’s house: Jon, his husband, Dominic, and their daughter, Liliana, who is just a few months younger than Milo. It was wonderful to walk to a park, do laundry, and spread out. But, best of all, it is great to catch up with Jon and his family. It feels like a very decadent stop on our journey east.

It also feels quite sad as we make the move from the West to the Midwest. Slowly going home and saying goodbye to dry air and big sky.
