We're on our way to becoming vegetarians.

I thought that I would get the subject line out of the way first because I know that there will be collective groan from my parents and anyone who makes dinner for us.  Randal and I did decide one caveat though and that is we will eat whatever is served us - we will just no longer buy meat.  I attended a conference last week in Florida and one after another inspiring lectures about lifestyle medicine helped us reach this conclusion.  Learning stuff can be kind of annoying. You know what else is annoying?  Donald Trump.   Milo is definitely a Hillary supporter and so we got dressed up for the final debate and cheered for our woman.  Go Hillary, go!   And then to Naples!  Our hotel was near the beach, so we enjoyed some daily treks to the waves.  We let Milo explore the sand and insert sand in every crevice he could. When we were tired of the beach, we hung out at the pool. It was a terrible week, obviously. I met this guy - Michael Greger - who write the nut

Weekends

I've spent the last 24 hours doing mountains of laundry since we've been so busy having fun and hopping around the state. Randal and I took one of the inaugural trips on PenAir from Klamath to Portland to celebrate my birthday and were greeted there by Holly and Brittany (Klamath friends) and Kristi and Emily (high school friends).  It was a good time.  So good that on Monday, I had a cold and was verrrry tired.  It took a week of work to recover.   Brunch! Pre-dinner fussiness.  (I masked mi

It's autumn already?

I'm not quite sure how summer floated on by.  Perhaps it's because I continue to hop through work and perhaps it's because Randal and Milo and I had several adventures, but either way, it's cold here today and the leaves are turning and suddenly it's October. Here is a brief summer in pictures.  This doesn't capture the minutiae of our life, which is sweet.  It includes getting up with Milo as he cheerfully babbles about lights and dogs and Bogey and dad.  It involves going to work where the clinic continues to expand (check out our website at liveyoung.skylakes.org and get a sense of all of the cool things we're doing) and Randal continues to improve the building and start new projects.  It involves dinner as a family while the dogs hover around Milo as he cheerfully throws bits to them and laughs and laughs.  It involves cocktails with friends and hikes in the Basin and sunshine and sunburns and good things.  And of course, it also involves being str
